With a range of challenges to choose from, there is no excuse not to get involved in this year’s Mitzvah Day.
The Times & Independent Series is working with the organisers to encourage readers to take part in meaningful challenges on Sunday, November 16.
Now in its ninth year, Mitzvah Day is a Jewish-led initiative that encourages people to volunteer their time, rather than their money, to good causes in the community.
You could strap on your wellies and help spruce up woodlands or even tie up your old apron to bake cakes for a charity of your choice.
But if you don’t fancy getting creative, you could give away your lunch to a homeless shelter or spend an afternoon in a nursing home as part of the Sunshine to Seniors challenge.
