Families joined together to celebrate the Borough of Harrow’s 60th birthday at the annual Under One Sky festival.

Thousands of people attended the event in Bryon Park, in Belmont Road, yesterday which this year marked 60 years since Harrow became a London Borough.

The day of events included a fun fair, donkey rides, a classic car display and petting zoo.

There was also a music stage which had performances from more than a dozen acts throughout the day.

A highlight of the day was the flag parade led by the Mayor of Harrow Ajay Maru and featured designs from schoolchildren of the borough.

Children of all ages also got the chance to try out different activities including circus skills, African drumming as well as bollywood and street dancing.

The Harrow based drama and performance group Flash Musicals hosted an ‘All Our Yesterdays’ area, taking people back to 1954 with swing dancing, arts and crafts, fancy dress and vintage cars.

Under One Sky was part of a weekend of celebrations to mark the borough’s Diamond Jubilee which included a Freedom Parade which passed through Harrow town centre and included serving and ex-service military personnel, cadets, police and the London Fire Brigade.
