A steam locomotive will be puffing through the borough to celebrate 125 years since the opening of a branch line.

Metropolitan Locomotive No. 1 will be making its way along the Metropolitan line next month to celebrate the anniversary of the line’s Chesham branch opening.

On Saturday August 16 and Sunday August 17 the engine will steam from Wembley Park to Rickmansworth, to Chesham and finally to Harrow-on-the-Hill station.

People will have the chance to ride in the carriages pulled by the engine dating back to the 1890s.

Throughout last year the London Transport Museum organised a similar events along the Metropolitan line to celebrate 150 years of the Underground.
