An Olympic medallist has been announced as an official ambassador for a hospital’s redevelopment appeal.
Max Whitlock, the 21-year-old Olympic gymnast, has been selected as an ambassador for the The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) Charity’s redevelopment appeal.
The athlete, who will be competing in the Commonwealth Games, has joined the appeal to help raise £15million to pay for additional facilities and equipment for the hospital, which is currently undergoing £90million redevelopment.
Last month helped kick off the appeal’s flagship fundraising event, the 12th annual Buttercup Walk in Stanmore.
Mr Whitlock said: “It is a great honour to be representing the charity’s appeal and am excited to do all I can to help raise its profile.
“I’ve been privileged to spend time with patients at the Buttercup Walk and hear about the incredible treatment they have received at the RNOH.
“It’s a very special hospital and I’m looking forward to working more closely with the charity.”
