A housebuilding programme which will see an entire housing estate redeveloped will be discussed by councillors this evening.
Harrow Borough Council’s cabinet will meet this evening to decide on the future of the Homes for Harrow scheme which was announced earlier this month.
Under the proposals is the demolition and redevelopment of Grange Farm Estate, on the border of South Harrow and Harrow-on-the-Hill, which would be the first new council homes built in the borough in 23 years.
It will mean the replacement of 240 ageing homes with 430 new properties.
Also included in the scheme are plans to build up to 50 new homes on pockets of land owned by the council as well as the redevelopment of other flats around the borough.
The cabinet is due to meet and make a decision on the plans this evening at the council Civic Centre, at 6.30pm.
