Hospital staff enjoyed afternoon tea to mark International Nurses Day and to commemorate the birth of Florence Nightingale.
The team at BMI the Clementine Churchill Hospital, in Harrow joined millions of people around the world honouring the hard work, dedication and professionalism of nurses around the globe.
The annual event takes place every year on May 12 to commemorate the birthday of Florence Nightingale.
Kay Ferris, regional director of nursing at the hospital, said: “International Nurses Day gives us all a chance to reflect on the career of Florence Nightingale and the vital role modern nurses play in the UK and international healthcare profession.
“The role of a nurse has changed dramatically with the advent of advances in science and technology but compassionate care is still the guiding principle of the nursing profession.
“Nursing is a profession that is driven by continual professional development to improve the knowledge of our staff and ultimately the care we provide to our patients.”
