More than 15 arrested in Harrow as part of London-wide operation
More than 15 people were arrested in Harrow as part of an operation targeting burglary, theft and other offences across the capital.
Police took part in raids around Harrow as part of Operation Big Wing last week and carried out other crime prevention activities such as random car checks to tackle motoring offences.
A total of 16 people were arrested in the borough, including two for immigration offences, two for possession of a class A drug with intent to supply and one for domestic abuse.
Other arrests included one person was arrested for being drunk while in charge of a motor vehicle, another for fraud and one was arrested for burglary.
Commander Mak Chishty, who was leading the operation, said: "These results demonstrate our commitment to driving down crime and its generators in London.
"Crimes like burglary, robbery and theft have a huge impact on the people who are victims.
"Work continues day in and day out to target those responsible and the networks they use to sell on stolen property, but big highly visible operations like this play a major part in the fight against crime and demonstrates there is no hiding place for criminals."
Across the whole of London police made more than 630 arrests, ranging from offences of burglary, theft, drugs, the handling of stolen goods, fraud, and robbery.
