A hospital radio run entirely by volunteers has been awarded prize of £2,500 following an employee competition.
Radio Northwick Park was given the money as part of the Community Champion Awards, run by the Daily Mail General Trust.
The awards gives prizes to employees of voluntary groups who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.
Chairman Matt Blank won the highly commended award for his work at the radio station, which has entertained patients and visitors at Northwick Park Hospital for more than 30 years.
He said: “It feels great that my employer recognises my efforts outside work and has awarded Radio Northwick Park.
“This money will go a long way to keep the charity alive and will help volunteers provide better patient-visiting services on the wards. I’m very grateful and thankful to DMGT for this.”
