A Hindu temple went 100 extra miles for Sports Relief to help raise money for the charity sports day.

The congregation of the Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury were out in force yesterday, with 100 runners taking part in the Sport Relief Mile in the Church Lane Playing Fields.

Members of the own Shree Muktajeevan Pipe Band and Dhol Academy from the temple also led the entertainment at the flagship event at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The temple is due to open in August this year and is planning to host other charity events in the coming months, including a blood donation drive in April.
