Thousands vote for new Harrow youth parliament members
More than 10,000 children and teenagers voted to elect the politicians of the future.
Votes were cast by secondary school pupils across the borough as part of this year’s Youth Elections, run by Harrow Borough Council.
The 47 new politicians from the age of 11 to 18 will represent their peers in Harrow Youth Parliament over the coming year.
Later this month, all 97 members of the youth parliament will meet at the Harrow Civic Centre for their annual general meeting to elect a new representative of the National Youth Parliament.
The elections, which took place at schools and community groups, were supported by the council’s electoral services and youth development team.
