A volunteer has helped give an aviary at a hospice a new lease of life.
Marie Abraham has worked tirelessly to help improve the Michael Sobell Hospice aviary.
The Pinner woman became involved with the charity after her daughter volunteered at the hospice for several years before going to university.
Mrs Abraham said: "The project was so rewarding, everyone in the unit was so lovely, blowing kisses at us through the aviary windows while we were painting."
Hospice senior sister Carol Weston said: “The aviary means a lot to the hospice, to patients, their visitors as well as staff and we are absolutely delighted with the new look.
“We would like to extend our thanks to the Abraham family, who have brightened up the place and brought a smile to many faces, and also to the team of volunteers who give up their time each week to feed the birds and keep the area clean.”
The hospice, based in Northwood, provides care and support for people in and around Pinner with life-limiting illnesses.
