A deaf charity will host an event to mark International Women’s day this weekend.
On Saturday March 1, Harrow United Deaf Club will hold its event to mark the international day of action at The Bridge centre, in Christchurch Avenue, Harrow.
The event will focus on ‘inspiring change’ and will include speeches from a panel of powerful woman from the local area involved in the public and voluntary sector.
Asif Iqbal MBE, president of the group said: “It is important for us to support the International Women Day, to recognise the achievements of many women including deaf and hearing women and to inspire our members including younger generation to look up, empowering and encouraging them to achieve their aspiration."
The event will start at 5.30pm and entrance is £2 for adults, and £1 for children. Those interested in attending can email hudc@hotmail.co.uk to book a place.
