Free wireless internet will be available in busy parts of the borough from next month.
Harrow Borough Council has announced people will be able to get free Wi-Fi for 30 minutes due to a deal agreed with communications infrastructure provider Arqiva.
Free access will be available in Harrow town centre and other parts of the borough including Pinner, Stanmore and Edgware.
The deal will not cost the council any money as Harrow will receive online access and advertising revenue from the service.
After using the free 30-minute Wi-Fi people can then choose to pay for more time online, and from next month hubs in 18 locations will be switched on for people to use.
Later in the year Arqiva will begin installing more equipment in council lampposts to boost reception.
