Park High School sports hall plans refused by Harrow Borough Council’s planning committee
Plans for a school to allow members of the public to use its sport facilities have been refused by councillors.
Harrow Borough Council’s planning committee refused permission for Park High School, in Thistlecroft Gardens, Stanmore, to allow clubs to use its sports hall.
The plans were refused on grounds the school had not provided members with enough evidence to show a sufficient need for the facilities to outweigh the impact on people living nearby.
Under the plans the public would have only be allowed to use the sports hall between the hours of 6pm and 10pm, Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays.
Earlier this week people living near the school raised concerns about the plans, saying they would cause congestion.
