Worshippers take part in day of volunteering
Hundreds of volunteers were joined by politicians for a Hindu temple’s day of voluntary action.
The Shree Swaminarayan Temple, of Dharma Bhakti Manor, in Wood Lane, Stanmore, hosted a Sewa Day clearing parts of Stanmore Country Park.
More than 200 volunteers cleared paths from weeds and planted new trees to bring a new lease of life to the area.
Sewa day is a Hindu tradition in which people volunteer for the day and worshipers across the world took part in the event on Sunday October 6.
Harrow East MP Bob Blackman and councillors from Harrow also rolled up their sleeves to join in the day.
