Harrow's historic buildings to open doors for heritage weekend
Historic buildings across the borough will be opening their doors to the public to celebrate the heritage of the area.
The event, called Open Doors, will take place on Saturday and Sunday September 21 and 22, giving people the chance to visit and tour some of Harrow’s hidden treasures.
Buildings on the list include All Saints Church in Harrow Weald with its vivid mosaic wall mural, Headstone Manor Museum and parts of Harrow School in Harrow-on-the-Hill.
The weekend is being organised by Harrow School in partnership with Harrow Borough Council.
Cabinet member for community and culture councillor Nizam Ismail said: “Harrow has some of the most beautiful heritage in London with some fascinating stories to tell.
“Harrow Open Doors is a wonderful opportunity to admire their form and learn about their history.
“By developing our own event this year, our heritage buildings are working together to promote the history of the borough and giving our residents and other visitors a unique opportunity to visit some of our greatest structures.”
