Happy Days Children's Charity raised £1,270 to send disabled children from Kingsbury to see West End show

A charity has raised more than £1,000 to pay for a group of disabled children from Kingsbury to watch a play in London’s West End on Wednesday.
The Happy Days Children’s Charity raised £1,270 for the Village School Play Scheme to send 23 children with special needs to see Wicked at the Apollo in Victoria.
The charity pays for and organises trips, holidays and days out for disadvantaged young people with special needs.
The Kingsbury group are between six and 16 years old and attend and all suffer from autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
Village School’s business manager Christine Eracleous said: “The children are really excited about the trip.
“We are extremely creative as a school and we are really delighted to be given the opportunity.”
The charity has been established since 1992 and has provided holidays and special day trips for more than 135,000 children with special needs to date.
Bookings officer Caroline Fonseca said the organisation was happy to the children on the trip despite the tough financial situation.
She said: “We are doing our best but because of the economic situation we to make cutbacks.
“The money just isn’t coming in like it used to.”
