Unemployment in Harrow continues to fall Unemployment in Harrow continues to fall

New figures show joblessness in Harrow has fallen again.

Between January 2012 and January 2013 the claimant count fell by 11 per cent, as 435 more people found work.

Nearly 59 per cent of the fall was among people in the 18 to 34 age group.

Bob Blackman, MP for Harrow East, said: “In my constituency, the unemployment rate now stands at just 3.1 per cent.

“This means that Harrow East has one of the lowest rates of unemployment in the country.”

This is very ecouraging news and I am happy that we have such healthy employment figures. presumably then our burglary, muggging and property theft rate will go down in paralell to reflect this positive news?

Sue is that because not all crimes are recorded and therefore, it looks like there is a downward trend?. From my own experience I can tell you that is the case. However, that does not detract from the fact that our unemployment figures are on a downward trend and I think that is a very positive thing especailly for the younger population in our Borough.
