Police are appealing for witnesses after a stabbing in Kenton early on Saturday morning.

Police were called to Falcon Way at 4.50am following reports of a serious assault.

A 20-year-old man walking along the road after leaving a friend’s house had been approached by an unknown man who tried to hit him and then stabbed him in the back.

The suspect made off down an alley towards Brookfield Crescent.

The victim made his way back to his friend’s house where the ambulance service was called.

He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not life changing.
