We the undersigned believe that doctors and nurses at Northwick Park, St Mark's and Central Middlesex Hospital need support as they fight to provide care against the backdrop of a shrinking budget.

Staff are being asked to improve the service they provide but after having their budget slashed by eight per cent have less money with which to provide services.

The Conservative Party, which forms the dominant half of the coalition Government made health a major part of the election campaign both locally and nationally. The party pledged to increase spending for the duration of the current Parliament and a revue of funding is due to take place this summer. Too many campaigns are launched after decisions have already been made.

We want to show our support for our hospitals by calling on the coalition Government to give North West London Hospitals NHS Trust enough financial support to prevent the need for front line cuts and loss of services. Recent years have been hard across the public sector and the next five could be tougher still. But North West London was caught at a time when its finances were already rated at risk and faces the prospect of losing further funding as NHS Harrow moves services out of Northwick Park and into the community. The democratically elected leaders of this country must make good on their election promises and support health care for our communities by supporting our hospitals.

We want:

Enough support from Government for North West London Hospitals NHS Trust to balance next year’s budget without the need to lose beds or jobs.

Money to fix the hospitals and keep them properly maintained. Ultimately, we want a new Northwick Park Hospital.
