A FORMER care assistant who cheated a local authority out of £100,000 by pretending to be disabled is due to be sentenced.
Kato Solomon got a £75,000 specially adapted council flat in Hazeldene Drive, Pinner, as well as claiming £26,000 in benefits from 1994 to 1997, while claiming to be wheelchair bound.
He told Harrow Council officers he had to crawl up the stairs, but was actually working as an NHS care assistant.
Solomon pleaded guilty on November 27, last year, to fraud and deception, and is due to be sentenced at Harrow Crown Court at 10am today.
