NEW vehicles intended to reduce the time it takes to reach and deal with incidents on the London Underground are now in operation across London.
The ten cars, were given to the Emergency Response Unit (ERU), this month and have more space to carry specialist equipment.
The ERU is run by Tube Lines, who together with Metronet, have invested £1.4 million into the new vehicles.
Darren Hillier, manager of the ERU, said: "We tackle any type of incident on the whole Underground so there are vast quantities of tools we might need to use.
"We never know what might come up so being able to carry more kit will enable us to fix faults faster and get trains on the move again."
