A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court this morning accused of stabbing a Wembley man to death earlier this month.

Dean Gabay, 22, of no fixed abode, appeared at Hendon Magistrates’ Court this morning and spoke only to confirm his personal details, before being remanded in custody to appear at a crown court at a later date.

He is accused of murdering 26-year-old Arron Payne, who was found bleeding to death on the pavement outside a health centre in Chalkhill Road at just before 7pm on September 5.

Mr Payne died in hospital last Thursday night, with flowers and candles being laid at the scene of his death soon afterwards.

Two other men, aged 21 and 22, have been bailed to return to a north London police station in November over the incident.
