A hospital radio station which made a broadcast at a shopping centre this week, managed to raise hundreds of pounds for its cause.
Radio Northwick Park, which broadcasts to patients in Northwick Park Hospital, graced shoppers at St Ann’s Shopping Centre, Harrow, on Saturday to air live shows.
Charles Biggie, an accountant who presents a show for the station twice a week, said he was “elated” with all the money raised.
“I was presenting the show this weekend, and we managed to raise £360, which was incredible. We spoke to shoppers and everyone loved it. I had a great day meeting people in the shopping centre, and knowing it was for a good cause made it all the better for me.”
Dan Cottrell, fundraiser officer for the station, said: “The atmosphere in Harrow was great, and I can’t thank the public enough for digging deep in their pockets. It’s always great getting out in the community and sharing with people what Radio Northwick Park is all about.”
