A farmer, who has been tipped to become the next Susan Boyle, has said she is “gobsmacked” by public reaction.
Kim Adam, who lived in Harrow for 22 years, auditioned to be in the first round of Britain's Got Talent in October, with her dog, Tiny Taz, in tow. She said the judges were blown away with her operatic voice.
The 53-year-old, who moved to Scotland when she was 27, said: "I’ve never sung in public before, and I never really thought of singing professionally. One day I was singing to my hens and some customers heard me and told me I was fantastic, so I decided to give it a go. "I’m gobsmacked with all the support I’ve had from people who visit my farm."
Ms. Adam, who grew up in Courtney Avenue, Harrow Weald, will find out if she’s made it through to the live shows in March.
She hopes to be able to use her talents to raise money for her animal charity, Feufield Trust, and for Cancer Research, which she says is close to her heart.
"I want to be able to prove that you don’t have to be young to be a pop star - as long as there are people who believe in your talent, you will make it.
"I’d love to sing with Susan Boyle one day, but perhaps I’m getting ahead of myself - I’ll just take each day as it comes and keep my fingers crossed."
