Harrow Council is calling on budding athletes to apply for grants which could send them on their way to becoming sports stars.
The grants, which are designed to support athletes and aid their development, are administered by the GLL Sport Foundation, a charitable social enterprise which provides sport and physical activities that bring long term benefits to communities.
They will be awarded to athletes who can demonstrate the potential to succeed at an international level.
Successful applicants will receive awards of up to £1,250 towards athletics-associated training, travel and equipment costs over the next year.
Councillor David Perry, portfolio holder for community and cultural services on Harrow Council, said: “Harrow Council is keen to support and develop our local sporting talent and by applying for this funding you could be giving your sporting future the best possible start.”
The deadline for applications is Monday, February 20, and application forms can be downloaded by visiting www.gllsportfoundation.org
