Harrow’s hospitals have been in bad financial health for far too long, faced with spiraling debt and substantial budget cuts.
Northwick Park, St Mark’s and Central Middlesex hospitals serve residents of Harrow and Brent each day, treating injuries, delivering babies and offering help to live a healthier life.
Staff work hard to provide care under tough conditions and as the new coalition Government prepares to review next year’s spending plans, it is time for the community to offer its support.
The Conservatives made health a pillar of their election campaign, promising to increase spending for the duration of the current Parliament.
It is up to the public to keep them to their word and make sure our hospitals receive the support they need.
We must fight to ensure the people of Brent and Harrow get the healthcare they deserve.
We want:
Buildings are in need of tens of millions of pounds of investment just to bring them up to standard.
We want a hospital that allows our doctors, nurses, surgeons and specialists the facilities they deserve.
How can you help?
We want to hear from people who back our campaign.
The Harrow Times is committed to taking the fight for our hospitals to the Department of Health and to number 10 Downing Street.
You can join the Heal Harrow's Hospitals Facebook group. We are encouraging our readers to contact MPs Bob Blackman and Gareth Thomas along with London Assembly member Navin Shah and Health Secretary Andrew Lansley to lobby for support for our hospitals.
Good or bad, we want to hear what you think about the hospitals and what can be done to improve them.
