Harrow gritters out on borough's roads

GRITTERS were out in force overnight as a third wave of snowy weather threatened to hit the borough's streets.

Harrow Council workers dropped 24 tonnes of salt yesterday evening, as well as at 5am this morning, and will be on main roads in the borough again this afternoon.

Harrow has 268 tonnes of grit left, having started the winter with 3,000 tonnes.

Temperatures are not expected to drop below zero again until Wednesday night, when the Met Office forecasts -2C across London.

Predictions for the next three to five days show the possibility of some snow.

268 tonnes of salt left? I wouldn't worry - I only need a pinch for my chips, plenty of ketch-up and 2 slices of bread gives me the perfect chip butty - yummy.
