Kenton primary school wins debating contest

A KENTON school won Brent's first ever primary age debating contest.

Michael Sobell Sinai School, in Shakespeare Drive, beat competition from nine other schools in the borough in a duel of words at the Centre for Staff Development, in Neasden.

Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, in Stonebridge, came second.

Sharon Rhodes, who helped organise the event, said: “Congratulations to the team from the Michael Sobell Sinai School for winning our first ever primary debating competition and well done to all of the young Brent debaters who took part.

“I'm sure some of you are future prime ministers in the making.”
