Police smashed through a hot car window to save a 13-month-old baby who was trapped after their “distressed” mother accidentally locked herself out.
Officers were called to Elmgrove Primary and Nursery School, in Kenmore Avenue, in Harrow, on Tuesday, June 13 at 4.08pm.
The woman had locked her car door in error with the keys still inside and became “distressed”.
However, police arrived within 7 minutes at 4.15pm and forced entry into the car to rescue the baby, who was reported to be safe, well and happy after the incident.
A spokesperson for Harrow Police, who was not named, said: “The mother was happy with police actions in the circumstances of the child being trapped in the car on a hot day.”
