A second knife attack in less than two months has shocked the community in South Harrow.

A 19-year-old was rushed to hospital on Sunday January 8, after suffering knife wounds to his face and stomach.

Police were called to Northolt Road near South Harrow tube station at 9.48pm.
He was taken to hospital, treated for the wounds and subsequently discharged.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

This is the second knife attack to occur outside the Chicken Hut shop in Northolt Road, near South Harrow station.

In November last year, Hussein Ahmed, 19, from Edgware, was riding bike along the road when he was attacked by a gang.

He was attacked and died from stab wounds five days later in hospital.
Six people were arrested in connection with the killing, and two 14-year-olds and a15-year-old were charged with murder in December.

Floral tributes have now been placed near the crime scene for both victims.

Ahmed Moustafa owns and manages 222 café on Northolt Road, just opposite where the attack took place.

On the day of the attack, Mr Moustafa closed his café at 4pm and only heard about the attack the following day.

He said: “It is awful, there are gangs around the area, they are made up of people from different backgrounds who just fight each other. But the police don’t do anything about it. There is no action being taken.

“There used to be police officers walking up and down the streets. I haven’t seen any in so long. When something happens, they arrive in cars and then leave in cars.”

Harrow Labour Councillors for the Roxeth area, Cllr Primesh Patel, Cllr Jerry Miles and Cllr Margaret Davine collectively said: “We are very concerned about the recent knife crime involving young adults on our streets and we are working very hard with other authorities, especially the Police, to address the causes of this violence."

The Harrow Times asked the Metropolitan police for a comment at the time the paper went to press.
