A mother's daily school run was cut short as she was left shocked at what she saw coming a hill.

Claire Gordon, of Stanmore, had picked her daughter Lucy up from school on Monday afternoon (Jan 9) and was on her way home when she saw around ten horses galloping over a hill near Adelaide Close.

Ms Gordon said: “I was driving home after picking my daughter up from school when we saw around 10 horses galloping down the hill.

“It was just bizarre, it’s just not what you expect to see. They don’t belong to the local horse riding centre, but looking at their coats, they don’t look like wild horses.”

She added that police were soon on the scene and along with neighbours, they were trying to round up the horses.

In a report from the Metropolitan Police, it said: “We were called at 3.30pm on January 9, to reports of horses on the road, and then a few times after that by other people.

“We found the owner, and helped to move the horses from the road.”
