Harrow will be celebrating 45 years of dedicated radio programming with two days of community broadcasting.
Although Radio Harrow has only existed in its current form since 2015, its predecessor Radio Northwick Park provided four decades of service to people at the hospital, and is where Radio Harrow is still based.
On October 22 and 2, a weekend service – dubbed The Best Weekend Ever – will be a celebration of the borough, showcasing local bands, artists, organisations, sports groups, charities and community groups.
Highlights will include a healthy breakfast show broadcast from the hospital canteen, a treadmill challenge from the Harrow Leisure Centre, and a broadcast from the Harrow Arts Centre on Sunday afternoon.
As per Radio Harrow’s remit, the weekend will combine elements of wider community broadcasting with a strong focus on health and wellbeing. Hosts will be chatting with experts at Northwick Park about important healthcare issues including Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Programming will run from 6am on Saturday until 10pm on Sunday.
