Partygoers heading to a foam party at a Harrow hall on Sunday night will be turned away by police.

Police announced on Twitter that the Sunday night party was cancelled and that an anti-social behaviour dispersal order would be put in place to repel revellers.

The event at the Harrow Leisure Centre on Christchurch Avenue, also known as the Byron Hall, was expected to welcome hundreds of people, and would have run until 2am on Monday.

However the decision to cancel the event was taken after the Marlborough Safer Neighbourhood Team met with party organisers to discuss the potential for anti-social behaviour problems.

It comes after a similar event at the hall descended into disarray in June, leading to the event being closed down early.
