A Harrow man has been fined for dumping rubbish in a countryside beauty spot.

Constantin Vladeanu, 26, of Roxeth Green Avenue, pleaded guilty to the charge at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on July 20.

On February 3 a pile of waste, including a sofa and some discarded wooden panels. was found at a lay-by parking area in the village of Little Chalfont, Bucks.

The rubbish was photographed and examined, with details found within leading investigators to speak with Mr Vladeanu.

Mr Vladeanu initially protested innocence when questioned by police, claiming the construction and household waste had been taken from his Harrow home by an unknown third party.

However the magistrates were not convinced and ordered Mr Vladeanu to pay a total of £1,604 in prosecution and clean-up costs.

Cllr Mike Smith, chairman of the Joint Waste Partnership for Buckinghamshire, said: "This is another case where a Buckinghamshire beauty spot was despoiled by waste brought from elsewhere.

“Although two thirds of cases we prosecute concern the people who actually dump the waste, we will continue to take action on behalf of local residents to ensure that failure in responsibility by the waste producer is also properly punished - including the recovery of costs incurred in both cleaning up and prosecuting."
