Wealdstone is set to benefit from a £1.5 million cash windfall.

Harrow Council has won a grant to regenerate the town from the Mayor of London.

The cash from the Mayor’s Regeneration Fund will support the creation of new jobs, work spaces for businesses and fund a new public square.

Cllr Keith Ferry, responsible for business and regeneration, said: "New jobs, brilliant businesses, and beautiful public spaces are a huge focus of our programme to Build a Better Harrow. This grant will help us deliver all three for future Wealdstone residents.

"Our team has done a fantastic job by winning this money – and we will keep on working together with local traders and community groups as we get ready to move the Council’s offices across the railway track."

Specifically, Harrow Council plans to spend the grant money on creating new work space for businesses in the creative industry and a new town square between Holy Trinity Square and Subway for outdoor cultural events and markets.
