An elderly man’s “sentimental” army service medal was stolen during a burglary.
The medal was taken from a house in Fryent Way, Kingsbury, between Sunday, October 18 and Thursday, October 22.
It is a George VI Type 1 General Service Medal which was awarded to his father in recognition of his army service in Palestine in the 1930s.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Louise Moore, said: "I am appealing to people who may have been offered the medal, or have seen a medal like this recently, to contact me.
“It has priceless sentimental value to the owner who is desperate for its return."
Anyone with information about the burglary or the medal is urged to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1924835/15. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via crimestoppers-uk.org.
