BANGING of drums and the whirr of a raffle drum filled the air as hordes of people braved the rain to take part in a community afternoon.
Wealdstone High Street played host to an afternoon of community fun on Tuesday, August 25, as volunteers battled rain and high winds to put smiles on shoppers’ faces.
Run by the Ignite Trust charity, which works with at risk and vulnerable young people through positive activities such as dance and school clubs, shoppers ducked under their gazebo to tuck into a range of free food and drinks.
Passers-by were treated to face painting sessions and live music, and also took part in a raffle.
