A MAN who shaved his head for charity has received an anonymous donation after a kind-hearted stranger saw his appeal in the Times Series.

Darren Saich, the office and finance administrator at the Broadwalk Centre, in Station Road, Edgware, shaved his head and beard off for Macmillan Cancer Support on August 17.

After appealing to the public for donations, Mr Saich was stunned to receive a £50 donation from an unknown person.

They simply said they had seen his appeal for sponsors in the Times Series and wanted to help.

He now wants to express his gratitude to the community for all their support.

He said: “I cannot thank everyone enough for their generosity and support. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the anonymous donation come through.

“It showcases that true community support and goodwill still exists. I am delighted to say that I have now raised over £100 and beaten my target so I couldn’t be happier as every penny will go towards the fantastic work that the Macmillan Cancer Support team carries out every day.”
