Results are still flooding in from schools across the borough as young learners continue to celebrate the end of their GCSEs.

Many of the anxious students who arrived at Harrow College’s Weald Campus yesterday morning were left with smiles on their faces after opening their result envelopes.

Sakariya Ahmed was both relieved and proud after passing each of his subjects as part of his GCSE retake package.

He said: “My main aim was to improve on the grade C I achieved in Maths last year.

“I have now got a grade B in Maths which will allow me to study A-Levels in Maths, Economics and Business Studies next year”.

Nikita Patel, who achieved a grade B in her English Language exam, said: “I’m really happy because I’ve actually done better than I expected.

“The atmosphere at the college has been great over the past year and the staff have been really supportive. I’m so glad I’ve passed”.

At The Salvatorian College, in High Road, Harrow, 59 per cent of pupils have achieved five A*to C grades, including English and maths.

Year 10 pupils who took their GCSE statistics this year have also wowed their teachers, with 98 per cent achieving A* to C.

Head Paul Kassapian said: "Overall, there are very many positive messages from the results, which clearly show that we are continuing to make improvements for our pupils.

“I would like to congratulate all our year 11 pupils on their results and wish them every success in the future."
