Devastated family members are urging the public to come forward after a man was stabbed to death.

Granville Thomas, of Harrow-on-the-Hill, was found suffering serious stab injuries after police were called to a service road at the back of Ranelagh Road and Station Road in Harlesden at around 6.30pm on Monday, June 29.

The 55-year-old – who is better known by his street names Rat or Blacks – was prounounced dead at the scene.

Louis Thomas, Mr Thomas's said: "My brother was murdered last night, my family are devastated.

“I would ask if anyone saw or knows anything in relation to his murder, please speak to the police."

A post-mortem examination will be carried out today, Wednesday, July 1, and formal identification will be held in due course.

Dwayne King, 29, of no fixed abode, has been charged with the murder and will appear in custody at Hendon Magistrates' Court later today.

Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, who is leading the investigation, said: "We need information to come from the community. Please do not assume that someone has made a call to police.

"I have released this image of the location in the hope that this will make it clear where this incident took place.

"I continue to appeal to anyone who may have been in the area as well as witnesses to the stabbing to contact us as soon as possible."
