A women’s centre received a grant of more than £16,000 to establish a sewing and enterprise project.
Using money raised by HealthHope CIC through The Health Lottery, the Harrow Women's Centre secured a grant of £16,894 for a new 24-month project to establish a sewing and enterprise project.
The scheme aims to equip women from black, minority ethnic and refugee communities with practical skills and knowledge to enable them to sell their products.
Chris Lunn, director of HealthHope, said: “It’s great that money raised by HealthHope CIC is supporting such important local initiatives.”
The grant was awarded by the People’s Health Trust through Active Communities, a funding programme which invests in people and groups in communities with great ideas to make their communities even better.
So far, HealthHope CIC has raised more than £1,256,446 to support good causes in North West London.
