A politician welcomed more than £30 million to help build new homes at landmark sites.
The Great London Authority (GLA) has awarded £31.3m to help pay for 1,679 new homes, two town squares, primary schools and improved sports facilities.
Major sites benefiting from the cash include those like the Kodak and the Old Post Office sites located in an ‘opportunity area’ designated in London Plan.
London Assembly Member for Brent and Harrow Navin Shah welcomed the extra money, praising Harrow Council for the bid for funding.
He said: “This is brilliant news for Harrow. I’m pleased that Harrow Council’s strong and successful bid has now paved the way for a massive and much-needed housing and regeneration programme.
"Harrow’s community has waited long enough for these facilities and its time that they are developed for both the existing needs and the significant future growth from new housing and economic regeneration.”
