Four people were arrested after being identified by police sniffer dogs outside an underground station.

The arrests were made by Harrow police officers as part of the secure streets day in South Harrow.

Three of the men arrested were for possession of cannabis and the other was detained for an outstanding warrant.

Harrow police have been running the secure streets enforcement with Harrow Council since November last year.

The scheme has included ten days of action and there have been more than 100 arrests from the operation days, which have taken place in targeted areas of the borough including Wealdstone, Edgware, Harrow town centre and Rayners Lane.

Harrow Borough Commander Chief Superintendent Simon Ovens said: “I am very pleased to see a show of strength and our partners joining together on a secure streets day, to help make Harrow the safest borough in London.

“We are going to continue these days of action and we are glad to be able to continue our coordinated campaign with the local authority.

“The partnerships we have with other organisations means we can come together all in one place to help the people that live here.”
