The closure of public access to a field has been delayed to allow further time for discussions between site owners and neighbours.
The Harrow Times reported last week that hundreds of people has signed a petition to prevent the closure of access to Church Fields at the end of Kingsfield Road, in Harrow-on-the-Hill.
The fields are leased to Harrow Borough Council by the John Lyon Foundation, part of the Harrow Foundation, which owns the land.
The council said the closure of the access point was due to take place yesterday due to a covenant on the land.
However Harrow Council says it has been told by the foundation that the closure of the access will be delayed until October 7 to allow more time for discussions with those living in Kingsfield Road.
