People living around a temple helped save lives by giving blood in its second community blood donation.
A total of 87 donors attended the blood donation on July 13 at the Shree Swaminarayan Mandir temple, giving 76 units of blood - 12 more than the temple's first session.
This raised their grand total of units of blood gathered to 1,167 units.
Mr Mahesh Varsani, a trustee of the temple said, "Despite part of the Mandir still being under construction, this didn't dissuade the local community from attending our second blood donation session here at Kingsbury. We had 38 new donors this year, which is fantastic."
