Brent Councillors to support White Ribbon Day

Brent Borough Council’s leader and lead member for crime and public safety will be speaking out against violence against women on Monday.
To mark White Ribbon Day on November 25, Councillor Muhammed Butt and Councillor Lincoln Beswick will lead all Brent councillors in publically signing a pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women.
They will be undertaking the signing in the council chamber of the Town Hall between 2pm and 4pm.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the event and will also be offered the opportunity to sign the pledge themselves.
White Ribbon Day, also known as the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, sees men across the world being urged to wear white ribbons.
This is a way of promising not to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women.
