While Mark Brown and others argue about the proposed scheme to install machines in Harrow libraries and dispense with staff (‘Machines will lengthen queues’, Your Views, August 19), none of them mention that the people most affected would be pensioners.
Many of them will not be able to deal with machines for various reasons, such as poor eyesight or lack of skill to deal with yet another machine instead of a human.
It just shows what our “representatives” really think of the people who voted for them — they are worth nothing and can easily be ignored as long as they fill in a ballot paper at the right time.
