Clearly, Bertha Joseph has no case to make

While Councillor Bertha Joesph is being investigated (‘Former mayor is investigated over claims of theft’, Harrow Times, March 4), she still continues to peddle her story of Labour conspiracy that everyone, including the Standards Committee and an independent tribunal, have rejected outright.

I also don’t understand the logic behind the Mayor of London’s recent move giving the disgraced Cllr Joseph further two weeks to“make her case” to him.

Many months ago, Brent’s Standards Committee delivered a damning verdict against Cllr Joseph for bringing the council into disrepute and suspended her for six months.

Following this, an independent tribunal presided over by Judge David Laverick has thrown out Cllr Joseph’s appeal. The tribunal has condemned Cllr Joseph for her “recklessness”, slammed her for “repeated lack of credibility” and stated, “she surely cannot expect again to serve as Mayor given the disrepute she has caused to the office”.

Cllr Joseph has completley failed to convince both the Standards Committee and a tribunal.

Clearly she has no case to make. The Mayor of London has had well over four months to take action and it’s time he does that without anymore dithering or looking for excuses. The delay is more to do with saving his party’s political skin than taking a firm and decisive action against sleaze and defending reputation of the London Fire Brigade and public office.

Interesting how the conversation moves towards a political gibberish, any opportunity to blame and have a poke at the Mayor of London from the Member of the Assembly. How about asking Gordon to remove all Labour politicians who have brought this country into disrepute. Remember the expenses fiasco and fraud.
