Selfish to deny elderly a bus

Councillor Manji Kara and Mr N Mistry say roads are too narrow for the new bus service 324 to run along, (Harrow Times, Your Views June 4) yet buses frequently run along there now.

I was a bus driver and three relatives, including my husband, are still bus drivers.

There will be no more noise, vibration or pollution from a single-decker bus than many cars.

Mr Mistry mentions cars reversing from drives to road, he should know that this is illegal.

We are an ageing population and many elderly and infirm people need a bus service to reach amenities running near their home. It is selfish to deny them this chance of a new route along roads not serviced.

Mrs G Quinton, Streatfield Road, Kenton
